MINES MINISTRY HANDING OVER CEREMONY

The outgoing Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray has today 16th May, 2018 handed over the Ministry to the incoming Minister, Dr. Morie Manyeh. The ceremony took place at the Ministry’s Conference Room, 5th Floor, Youyi Building.
Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray said that the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources is responsible for formulating policies and plans for the development of the mineral sector in Sierra Leone, and has contributed immensely to the growth of the country’s economy.
He added that the Ministry has put in place the legislative framework to ensure the effective and efficient management of the mineral sector in delivering maximum benefit to the people of Sierra Leone.
Dr. Morie Manyeh, in receiving the documents of the ministry from his predecessor thanked the outgoing minister for his service to the ministry and the country. He furthered that as a political head in charge, he would benefit from the work Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray has done over the years.
Dr. Manyeh maintained that he believes in continuity in governance adding that he would look at what has been handed over to him to continue running the Ministry. He reiterated that good things should be maintained but the odds should not continue. ‘It is my responsibility to the nation and the President who appointed me and to the staff of the Ministry to make sure things do work’, he stated.
