Competitors, fans Table Tennis officials and Chinese Embassy Team

The Sierra Leone Table Tennis Association on 26th to 27th October 2019 has participated to the Bintumani Cup Sierra Leone International Table Tennis Tournament with numerous competitors that were able to win certificates of merit at the end of the competition.
With support from the Chinese Embassy and Sierra Leone Tennis Association, they noted that they have been hosting such tournament for three years now in the country, but the just ended competitions was very elated that really initiated young, adult and handicapped competitors to actively partake.
Bresford Sawyer who among the male adults category was able to leapfrog his opponent Alieu Sesay with a considerable points, sawyer has been a winning such tournament for three consecutive times, besides, he has been representing the country internationally which accolades have been always being motivating him to focus.
He recognized the efforts of his coach for grooming him to such game since 2005, and he does narrated that his opponent is a hard player and Alieu had been a target for him and he had not wanted to meet with him he was able to display his exceptional effort to win him.
Caoch Edward Saio Kanu of the ALOSAK YABLE TENNIS CLUB described Desmond as hard and focused table tennis player that allows to him win under adults category. He noted that table tennis is a friendship game that brings people together as well as fosters unity, as it motto speaks “people with sound mind and sound body.”
While making his remarks, Mr. WANG Xinmin Charge d’ Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone commended the competitors for partaking in the tournament because he fully enjoyed the performance of the players and in China, table tennis is called Ping Pong which is one of their popular sports.
He affirmed that China and Sierra Leone will push forward their bilateral cooperation remarkably in all fields including sports and culture, hence, sport is an essential aspect of communication and exchange between different civilizations and countries.
