Africell Sierra Leone has filled the newly refurbished SLENA building with furniture worth millions of Leones. The event took place on Thursday November 21st, 2019 at the SLENA building at the top floor of the Government Bookshop, Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Information and Communications Mohamed Rahman Swarray underscored the significance of Africell's intervention, noting that with such a development, much would be expected of the SLENA staff. He added that the government newspaper should be handled with due diligence and utmost excellence.
The Managing Director of Africell Sierra Leone ShadiGerjawi noted that Africell has always been a development partner in the promotion of national issues that are of utmost importance. He said that Africell will continue to uphold its principles of quality service delivery across the country.
The Station Manager of the Africell radio station, AI radio John Konteh said that the intervention of Africell is in line with its Cooperate Social Responsibility. He added that they will continue to do more.
The Acting Director of Information at the Ministry of Information and Communications Emmanuel A.B Turay said that SLENA is a hub for credible national news. He said that such a nomenclature would be upheld when the newspaper would have been fully operational. He spoke about consistency which he said would be of great essence to keep the newspaper running.
Other dignitaries present at the event were, Abass Kamara Esq. who is the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Ing. Mohamed M. Jalloh who is the Acting Director of Communication, at the Ministry of Information and Communications.
